Integrating Sociology in the Field of Education Sector: An Exploration of the Dire Need of the Society
Abstract
Education is the fundamental necessity for the progress of mankind. Education is a two-way process wherein the transfer of knowledge takes place in the form of both teaching knowledge and receiving knowledge. Education shapes life and makes it better. It enhances the life of the individual and improves one’s thinking, feeling, and behavior. People get exposed to various life experiences through education. Education shapes human personality, thoughts, and indeed prepares people to face life in the future. Education tries to inculcate various things other than imparting knowledge. Education shapes human thoughts by imparting moral values, positive thinking, ethical values, etc. which in turn brings changes in society. By learning skills and knowledge, education tries to prepare humans to face world challenges. Education plays a pivotal role in creating a better society. This article tries to explore the need of integrating sociological theories in the field of education. The main concern of the Sociological theories is the relationship between society and human behavior. Through the act of integration of sociological theories in the field of education, it tries to study the human groups, their functions, and their behaviors. The process tries to make every individual a functional member of society. Society changes every now and then. Since society changes, education also undergoes changes. It is highly essential in this changing scenario for integration of sociological theories in the field of education which may, in turn, help society for the betterment of the human lifestyle.
